6 Months & Counting ~ Day 1: Getting Started

So today is Monday, July 12, 2010, and I've just given myself a 5 month deadline to our line out to the public. I thought it'd be kind of cool to create this blog, so that you guys could follow along, and see what it's like to create a fashion line from scratch. I'm a huge procrastinator, so I'm putting my faith into this blog in hopes that it will get me off of my bum, and get it working. I'll be perfectly honest, I have no clue as to exactly what I'm really doing, but we'll figure it out.

So here we go. Day 1: Getting Started!

Last night, I stayed up until 4Am cutting fabric. My goal this week is to have 4 skirts 95% completed by Wednesday. My I pre-made a couple of patterns out of newspapers a couple of weeks ago, so it went pretty quickly. Then I serged a couple of skirts. :) I'm still learning the serger too. Before moving to Seattle, I was using both a sewing machine and the serger. Since the move, I'm down to only my serger, so I'm learning how to do everything with just this little handy dandy machine. :) ...... (I will gladly accept any tips and advice on how to use it. )

Then, at about 4:15AM, I wrapped up, and went to bed. :)

Pudget Sound

So we finally made it up to Seattle from Dallas. I'd talked and talked and talked about going, and finally it was done. :) The sights and sounds are just as I'd imagined. I'm a big city girl, and this city, is by far, the biggest city I've lived in. Living in Seattle is just like a dream come true. Sometimes I feel like a little girl stepping into the big people's world. I thought Dallas was big, but it just doesn't compare. With the mix of the big city, the mountains, AND the ocean, it's all too magical. Anytime I feel a little out of place, and wonder why I made such a big change, I step outide, and Mt. Ranier looks me straight in the face, and my doubts instantly fade away.
There a few things that I'd like to change about the city, but they don't compare to those that I'd like to stay the same. From the Space Needle to Pikes Place Market to the homeless, Pudget Sound is one of the greatest places to live!
If you're every thinking of where go for vacation... think Seattle. :D

WE MADE IT!
